“Life in the Dash”
Friendship Youth-Led Worship: This Sunday, Friendship United Methodist Church’s Youth Group will lead our Fifth Sunday Worship Service.
The Youth Group has just returned from a week-long mission trip in western Illinois. The group worked at River’s Edge United Methodist Church near Peoria where buildings were severely damaged by the intense spring flooding here in Illinois. This was a very intense but rewarding experience for the Friendship youth group and they wish to share their experiences working for Christ by helping those in need.
Theme: If you Google “Life in the Dash” you get more then 201,000,000 results. There are poems, face book pages and songs related to the “Dash”….. Can you guess what I’m talking about…the “dash?”
It is the time between your birth and your death. It is the smallest statement on your tombstone… yet it says so much. However, when visiting the cemetery and on the tombstones, others just see the simple line. This Sunday we are going to tell you of our dashes, encourage you to think about yours, and to go a little outside the box and show you what we would like our literal and figurative dashes will look like.
From the date of our arrival to this world, until today- you will hear about why we love Jesus and what we have learned so far about our life in service to Him. You will hear, also, our desires of how we wish to live out our lives to continue to honor God!
Scripture: 1 Timothy 4:12
